RALEIGH, N.C. — A man accused of forging a stolen check has been charged with assaulting a police officer.
Police arrested Jovon Evans on Tuesday after a low-speed chase through North Raleigh. He is accused of running into a Raleigh police officer with a stolen Honda.
The officer was not seriously injured.
The officer had been called to a local bank that reported Evans for trying to forge a check.
The ensuing chase ended in the woods off Sandy Forks Road.
No one was hurt during the pursuit.
