Raleigh Police Officer Involved In Accident

— A Raleigh police officer is recovering from minor injuries after a Sunday-morning accident in North Raleigh.

The officer was going to the scene of an accident just after 2 a.m. Sunday when he collided with a vehicle near the intersection of

Capital Boulevard and Calvary Drive

Investigators said the officer, whose name was not released, had his lights and siren on when he drove through the red light. He hit a car that was going through the intersection.

No one was seriously injured, and the accident remained under investigation Sunday morning.

The officer was responding to an accident less than a mile away at the intersection of Spring Forest and Capital Boulevard. There were minor injuries in that wreck.
