Orange County Approves New Water Conservation Plan

ORANGE COUNTY, N.C. — Orange County and the towns of Carrboro and Chapel Hill have approved the

Orange Water and Sewer Authority's

(OWASA) conservation plan.

The new rules include:

  • Spray irrigation is limited to three days and one inch of water per week. If they get a notice from OWASA about a leak, residents have 10 days to fix it.
  • Restaurants may only serve water if requested.
  • Hotels can only replace bed linens on request or when new guests arrive.
