<b>DURHAM, N.C.</b> — A state trooper injured in a fiery crash is now out of the hospital.

Investigators say trooper Bryan Kirkpatrick lost control of his vehicle near the intersection of Hillsborough Road and Highway 15-501 in Durham. The vehicle went off the road and slammed into a backhoe.

Kirkpatrick is resting at home after leaving the hospital Thursday afternoon.
