<b>DURHAM, N.C.</b> — A Durham boy is in the hospital being treated for broken bones and swelling of the brain after he was hit by a car.

Police say the 12-year-old was riding his bike near the intersection of Elm and Wall Streets about 9:30 p.m. when the accident happened. Witnesses told officers the driver did not have his lights on.

Police have not released either the victim or the driver's name.
