FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A convenience store clerk has been charged with pocketing more than $1,000 in Powerball lottery tickets, authorities said.

Louisa Jean Campbell, 28, of 6271 Shadyside Lane in Fayetteville, is charged with embezzlement, larceny by employee and obtaining property by false pretenses, authorities said.

Campbell generated $1,062 worth of Powerball tickets for herself while working at a Clinton Road store owned by Holt Oil Co., authorities said. The theft was captured by surveillance video and was confirmed by cash register audits and a state audit of the lottery computer, authorities said.

She has been released on a $5,000 secured bond.
