Posted Updated

RALEIGH, N.C. — Drivers in Raleigh will soon be able to give their brakes a break.

The city council selected a contractor to design a synchronized traffic light system. HNTB will receive $4 million for the job.

The company will work with DOT engineers to keep more cars on the move.

It will be several years before all the lights are in sync.
