Two Arrested After Raleigh Apartment Fire

Posted Updated

RALEIGH, N.C. — An apartment fire has landed two people in jail, but not for starting it.

Firefighters quickly controlled the blaze at Boylan Apartments on West Morgan Street near downtown Raleigh. A burned mattress started a fire in a third-floor unit.

Everyone was evacuated safely, including two people who were later handcuffed by police officers. An investigator said they lived in the apartment that caught fire. Police arrested them on unrelated drug charges.
