Fort Bragg Woman Accused In Soldier's Death Living With Sister-In-Law

Posted Updated

FORT BRAGG, N.C. — A woman accused in a murder at Fort Bragg is now living with the sister of the man she allegedly killed.

Joan Shannon and her daughter, Elizabeth, are charged with shooting her husband, Maj. David Shannon, while he slept last July.

Joan Shannon spent nearly a year in the Cumberland County Jail before her family paid her bail earlier this week.

A judge ordered her to move in with her sister-in-law. That sister in law believes she is innocent and that Elizabeth is the real killer.
