Posted Updated

DURHAM, N.C. — Durham firefighters were busy with an early-morning blaze.

Flames broke out around 4 a.m. at a home on the corner of Elliott Road and North Roxboro Street.

The house was abandoned. The fire chief on the scene said he believed vagrants set the fire.

Firefighters were planning to burn the house down as a training exercise in about a week.
