FRANKLIN COUNTY, N.C. — A driver led authorities on a high-speed chase spanning two counties Tuesday before being charged with DWI.

Donald Rigsbee led police and state troopers more than 20 miles, reaching speeds of 100 mph. He ended up at his residence in Franklin County on Mt. Olive Church Road, where he was apprehended without incident.

The DWI charge was Riggsbee's fourth. Police also charged him with driving without a license, careless and reckless driving and speeding.

The chase started in Granville County along US 1 near I-85. Police had a license checkpoint set up, and Rigsbee allegedly sped right through to start the chase
