Wake School Board Delays Vote On Year-Round Schools

Posted Updated

RALEIGH, N.C. — The Wake school board agreed to delay a vote on year-round schools.

The board plans to release a list of schools for year-round conversion Aug. 15. The public will then have a chance to sound off Aug. 28.

A final list could be out by Sept. 5.

The board is converting between 20 and 30 elementary schools to a year-round calendar. They will look at capacity, growth, and socio-economic make-up when selecting the schools.
