FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Several businesses were closed Monday after suffering damage from an 18-wheeler crash.
The truck crashed into the middle of a five-shop Fayetteville strip mall at Bragg Boulevard and Elm Street around 1 a.m. Monday. According to police, the truck driver was trying to avoid hitting a car that had just run a red light.
The damaged building was not safe enough for a barber shop and delivery company to open. A bookstore also was forced to close because of electrical problems.
