Posted Updated

RALEIGH, N.C. — Saf-T-Net, a Raleigh based firm that provides alert services, is rolling out an enhanced version of its web-based AlertNow Rapid Notification Service.

The product is designed to enable schools to deliver rapidly thousands of voice or text messages in a short period of time to telephones and other devices.

Saf-T-Net products have been used by various school districts for nearly a decade. The enhanced

product was introduced this week at a conference in Chicago.

Authorized administrators can send out alerts by sending one message or making one phone call to a secure Internet site. The message is then delivered to distribution lists.

New features include the ability to translate text messages into the native, preferred language of recipients and integration with email messaging with the option of sending both voice and e-mail messages based on the parents' preferences or type of message.
