Man On Cell Phone Attempts To Rob Fuquay Bank

RALEIGH, N.C. — Fuquay-Varina police are searching for a man who attempted to rob a bank while he was talking on a cellular phone.

The man entered the SunTrust bank on North Main Street shortly after 1 p.m. on Wednesday and passed a note to the teller, authorities said, but he left before the robbery was complete.

Bank surveillance photos show the man talking on his phone, which police said appeared to be similar to a Motorola Razr.

Police said the man is black with a light to medium skin tone and stands about 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighs about 160 pounds. He was last seen wearing blue jeans, a long white T-shirt, a black cap possibly with a Baltimore Orioles logo on the front and white tennis shoes.
