Two Harnett Construction Workers Struck By Lightning

HARNETT COUNTY, N.C. — Two men are recovering after being struck by lightning Thursday afternoon.
Wilbur E. Carroll, 27, and Christopher Knowles, 37, both of Dunn were transported to Good Hope Hospital in Erwin. According to the Sheriff's Office, their injuries are not life-threatening.
The electric bolt knocked a dozen construction workers off their feet in a garage in Harnett County. It happened while they were working on a house north of Angier.
The lightning bolt struck the top of the house and splintered wood as it ran through it -- even cracking the brick foundation.
