WAKE FOREST, N.C. — The public could soon find out what punishment owners of a Wake County adult care center will face after one of its residents wandered away.
A 67-year-old patient suffering from dementia wandered away from the Wake Forest Care Center. The patient was found dead several hours later in a nearby wooded area.
The county made its punishment recommendation to the state. That recommendation is expected to become public Thursday.
