RALEIGH, N.C. — It was a short road to freedom for one of two escaped prison inmates.
Tarvis Weldon
showed up Wednesday afternoon at WakeMed. He was treated for wounds he got from scaling the back fence of the Wake Correctional Facility Monday night.
Authorities later placed Weldon into custody.
The other escapee,
McKinley Jones
, is still on the loose.
Investigators hope Weldon can tell them where he is.
