Children Caught In Middle Of Cumberland Drug Bust

CUMBERLAND COUNTY, N.C. — Two young children found themselves in the middle of a drug bust in Cumberland County Tuesday afternoon.
Walter Lee Lindsay, 39, and Carl Shepard, Jr., 34, were arrested Tuesday at a home on 1254 Charmain Street.
Lindsay was charged with possession of stolen property, possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana and maintaining a dwelling for the purpose of selling a controlled substance. Shepard was charged with misdemeanor possession of marijuana, possession of a stolen firearm and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Shepard also has prior convictions for burglary, several drug offenses and aiding and abetting manslaughter.
A 2-year-old boy and a 1-year-old girl were at the home with their mother. She was not charged by authorities.
