Fire Breaks Out Again At Fayetteville Church

Posted Updated

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A church congregation in Fayetteville is dealing with its second fire in nearly six years.

The fire occurred Tuesday at the Beauty Spot Missionary Baptist Church on

Raeford Road

. Investigators believe a welding mishap led to the fire. There were no reported injuries.

The church had been undergoing construction as a result of another fire in August 2000. Investigators believe the cause of that fire was electrical.

City officials shut down Old Raeford Road between Reilly and Rim roads as crews worked the fire. The road was expected to remain closed into Tuesday evening.
