East Carolina Bank CEO To Chair N.C. Bankers Association

ENGELHARD, N.C. — Arthur Kenney III, president and chief executive officer of the East Carolina Bank, is the new chairman of the North Carolina Bankers Association.

Kenney will serve as chair for the 2006-2007 term. He was elected at the association's annual conference, which took place in Hot Springs, VA.

"It is a pleasure and an honor to serve as chairman of the NCBA," Keeney said. "The NCBA provides an array of needed services to all banks in North Carolina such as educational and training programs, media relations, insurance benefits programs, the Carolina Banker magazine, regulatory and compliance assistance, as well as acting as legislative liaison in the NC General Assembly and the US Congress on behalf of its membership."

Kenney took over as president, CEO and director of East Carolina Bank in 1995.

East Carolina Bank operates 20 offices in Eastern North Carolina. The bank's stock trades on the Nasdaq under the symbol ECBE.
