Some Apex Students Make Up Day Lost By Chemical Fire

APEX, N.C. — Students were hitting the books Saturday morning in Apex.

Turner Creek Elementary and Lufkin Road Middle had to make up a day of classes after a major chemical fire in the area last week. Both are year-round schools.

Eight area schools were closed last Friday after fire broke out at the EQ hazardous waste site. Baucom Elementary, Apex Elementary, Olive Chapel Elementary, Apex Middle and Apex High will make up the day on Nov. 22. Green Hope High School will not have a make-up date.
