ATLANTA, GA. — BellSouth
is teaming with Protection One to provide security services for planned residential communities across BellSouth's Southeast coverage area.
Protection One is based in Lawrence, Kan.
The two firms have worked together since 2001 and now offer alarm services such as intrusion, heat, smoke and carbon-monoxide detection in 18 cities.
"Security is a critical element in new and existing communities, and BellSouth can now deliver a package of voice, video, data and security that is attractive to developers and residents," said Phil Jacobs, president of BellSouth Community Technologies. "BellSouth continues to pursue relationships with industry leaders to develop broad solutions that meet the needs of its customers."
BellSouth formed its Community Technologies business unit last year. The group works with developers and owners of planned communities to offer packages of BellSouth services.
