Easley To Sign Bill Making Veterans Day Public School Holiday

Posted Updated

RALEIGH, N.C. — Gov. Mike Easley will sign House Bill 421, an act to make Veterans Day a holiday for all public school personnel and students, Wednesday in the Governor's Office at the State Capitol Building.

Easley will be joined by the bill's sponsors, Rep. Marian McLawhorn, Sen. Tony Moore and veterans groups.

Currently, teachers have the option of a Teachers Work Day on Veterans Day. House Bill 421 will make it a mandatory holiday for teachers as well as students.
