Another Raleigh Bank Robbed By Man Riding Bicycle

RALEIGH, N.C. — For the second time in a month, a Raleigh bank was been robbed by a suspect who escaped on a bicycle.

Police said the North Plaza branch of Bank of America on Creedmoor Road was robbed at 9:22 a.m. Tuesday by a man armed with a gun.

Witnesses described the suspect as an African-American wearing a white face mask, blue shirt and blue jeans.

The

North Carolina Banker's Association

is offering a reward for the arrest and indictment of the suspect. Anyone with information is asked to call

(800) 209-2293.

On May 5, a Bank of America branch on Falls of Neuse Road was robbed by a man who also made his getaway on a bicycle.

The suspect was last seen riding a mountain bike down Spring Forest Road towards Capital Boulevard.

Police did not say how much money was taken.

The Highway Patrol brought in its helicopter to help with the search, but the suspect was able to get away.
