VANCE COUNTY, N.C. — A jail, plagued by escapes and high turnover, has another problem to add to the list.
An inmate at the Vance County Jail killed himself Friday morning.
Kenneth Roberson was arrested Thursday afternoon on fraud charges.
Less than 24 hours later, he hung himself with bed sheets in his cell.
The Vance County Jail has had a history of inmate escapes and low staff employment.
