Posted Updated

GOLDSBORO, N.C. — A Goldsboro city councilman is back in the tax department's good graces after paying his bill.

The Wayne County tax office said J.B. Rhodes, a funeral home owner, fell behind more than $1,100 in business taxes. He also was behind about $1,500 on his home.

The tax department said Rhodes came in and paid his bill Thursday after his name was printed in the local paper.
