FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — The Cumberland County Sheriff's Office has arrested 52-year-old Tommie Jefferson Gambrell, charging him with seven counts of indecent liberties with a child, two counts of kidnapping and two counts of contributing to the deliquency of a minor.
Gambrell is being held in the Cumberland County Detention Facility under a $155,000 secured bond.
The investigation began when the parent of one of the two male victims, ages 13 and 14, respectively, became suspicious of the relationship between Gambrell and their son.
According to investigators, Gambrell was a friend of the family of one of the victims and met the second victim through the first victim. All of the incidents took place in Gambrell's home over a period of time beginning in August 2002 and ending this month.
Sheriff's deputies have identified two other possible victims and said they are continuing the investigating.
