BROADWAY, N.C. — A game of cards between brothers turned deadly over the weekend in Harnett County.
Deputies said 35-year-old James May and his 41-year-old brother, John, got into an argument Saturday night, when May pulled out a gun and started firing. At least one round struck May's brother, who died at the scene.
May is being held on first-degree murder charges without bond. He is scheduled to make his first court appearance Monday.
The incident occurred at the residence of Patricia May, mother of both the victim and the suspect.
