Pit Bulls Put To Sleep After Attacking Rocky Mount Woman

Posted Updated

ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. — Two pit bulls who attacked a woman in Rocky Mount were put to sleep Wednesday morning.

Mae Parker, 61, was mauled in her yard last week. Neighbors helped scare off the dogs, but not before Parker suffered severe bites to her arms, chest and ear.

The dogs were quarantined for 10 days and did not have rabies.

The owners turned the pit bulls over to Animal Control on Monday. They still face fines for letting them run loose.
