Driver Of Delivery Truck Reportedly Robbed At Gunpoint

GARNER, N.C. — A delivery driver for Triangle Ice Company reported that he was robbed while making a delivery shortly after midnight Wednesday at the Greenbrier Texaco on U.S. 70 in Garner.

The victim said he started to unload the ice when he saw something move beside him. He stopped what he was doing and looked around but did not see anything. He said he looked under the truck, and as he was looking under the truck, the suspect came up behind him.

The victim said he turned around, and the suspect was standing in front of him. He said the suspect pointed a small handgun at him and demanded that he empty his pockets and give him his money.

The victim said he gave the suspect money, and the suspect ran away.

The suspect was described as being an African-American man about 6 feet tall, wearing a black hooded sweat shirt and black pants, and he reportedly was pointing a small caliber black handgun.
