Orange County Man Acquitted Of Double Murder

Posted Updated

ORANGE COUNTY, N.C. — A jury found an Orange County man not guilty for the murders of two people during a poker game.

Robert "Peanut" Gattis was cleared Tuesday on all charges.

Police say James Long and Nicholas Whitted were killed last year during a card game in Hillsborough. Police say robbery was the motive.

Last year, the district attorney dropped charges against another man accused of helping Gattis.

No one else has been tied to the poker robbery.
