RALEIGH, N.C. — A Fayetteville man was killed when two cars collided head-on near the Shearon Harris nuclear plant Monday morning.

The accident happened just before 8 a.m. on New Hill Holloman Road.

Authorities said a Mustang driven by Brian Charles Vance crossed the center lane as he came out of a curve and hit a pickup truck driven by Stephen Glenn Cahoon of Raleigh. Vance was pronounced dead at the scene.

Cahoon suffered a broken ankle. He was treated at Western Wake.

Both drivers reportedly were on their way to work. According to the Highway Patrol, weather was not a factor.
