Man's Chest Slashed In Attempted Robbery, Assault

RALEIGH, N.C. — Raleigh police are looking for a female suspect in an attempted robbery and assault that originally was thought to be a home invasion.

The incident happened Saturday, not far from the N.C. State campus.

Police said the victim, Roberto Edmundo Cedillo, was slashed across the chest area. His wounds are not life-threatening.

Police are looking for an African-American female in her 30's, standing 5-7 and weighing between 150-160 pounds, with short straight black hair. She was last seen wearing a black shirt with red shorts.

According to the orginal report, a woman knocked on the door of a home on Lexington Drive. When no one answered, according to police, the woman forced her way inside.

A male resident was inside the home. Police said the woman saw him and demanded money. They said when he didn't hand it over, she assaulted him.
