Suspect Accused In Murder Of Police Chief May Face Death Penalty

RALEIGH, N.C. — The man accused of killing Rich Square Police Chief Joe White is set to go before a grand jury on Monday.

The district attorney says she may seek the death penalty in the case.

Jason Hebert was arrested last week in Louisiana. He has been charged with first-degree murder.

White was killed nearly three years ago during a traffic stop.
