Posted Updated

RALEIGH, N.C. — At 36-10 overall and 15-4 in the last month, the North Carolina State baseball team will find it difficult to move any higher in the national rankings -- there isn't much more room to move up.

Coming off a 3-1 week that included a series victory over archrival North Carolina, the Wolfpack has moved up one spot, to No. 5, in the latest

Collegiate Baseball

poll.

The ranking is the highest for the team since USA Today

Baseball Weekly

ranked the Pack No. 5 on May 10, 1993.

On May 3, 1993,

Collegiate Baseball

and

Baseball America

had N.C. State ranked No. 4, and

Baseball Weekly

had the Wolfpack No. 3.

The Wolfpack trails only top-ranked Cal State Fullerton (38-8), No. 2 Florida State (38-7), No. 3 Rice (40-7) and No. 4 Arizona State (42-9).

The Wolfpack jumped three spots in the latest

Baseball America

poll,from No. 10 to No. 7.
