CHATHAM COUNTY, N.C. — Officers of the newly formed Family Violence Unit of the Chatham County Sheriff's Office conducted a large drug bust on Monday, uncovering 23 pounds of marijuana and 300 marijuana plants in a northern Chatham County residence.
Agents of the Chatham County Sheriff's Office Narcotics Unit were called in and conducted a thorough investigation. Along with the illegal drugs, some items that were confiscated were numerous grow lights, trays, buckets, potting soil, hoses and scales.
All controlled substances were submitted to the SBI Crime Lab.
