Cary Police Charge Burglary Suspect; May Be Tied To Raleigh Cases

RALEIGH, N.C. — Police believe a man arrested for violating his parole also sexually assaulted two women.

Cary police arrested Alonzo David Ewell, 38, Saturday. He was charged with possession of stolen goods and violating probation.

Cary police also charged Ewell with 2nd-degree burglary. He is suspected of robbing a unit at the Misty Woods apartment complex off Buck Jones Road in Cary while the resident was walking her dogs.

Investigators in Raleigh believe Ewell may also be responsible for two burglaries near Lineberry Drive and Trailwood Drive. Police said victims in those cases were also sexually assaulted.

The alleged crimes took place between September 2002 and April 5.
