Motorcyle Driver Killed In Durham Traffic Accident

DURHAM, N.C. — Durham police say a speeding motorcycle is to blame for a fatal accident.

According to the accident report, 38-year-old Sidney Rogers was heading east on Denfield St. Sunday afternoon when he collided with a car. Rogers died from his injuries at Duke hospital. The driver of the car wasn't hurt seriously.

Poilice said Rogers was traveling above the posted speed limit. They said his motorcylce struck the left side of a 1998 Toyota driven by Kenneth Wayne Hines, who had pulled out from Todd St. onto Denfield into Rogers' path. Police said Rogers was thrown from the motorcycle.

Hines was treated for his injuries at Durham Regional Hospital and released.
