<b>WAYNE COUNTY, N.C.</b> — Prosecutors said  they will seek the death penalty against the man accused of kidnapping and killing a 5-year-old Wayne County girl.

Precious Whitfield was last seen May 17. Her body was found two days later under a bridge near her home.

A Wayne County grand jury indicted Eric Lane of kidnapping and murder charges.

Lane is being held at Raleigh's Central Prison  because of threats made against him in Goldsboro.
