BAGHDAD, IRAQ — More than two days after a U.S. soldier disappeared in Baghdad, the military says three suspects are in custody for his kidnapping. The military says they were detained yesterday during the massive day-long operation in the Sadr City neighborhood of Baghdad. It says Iraqi forces found the suspects inside a mosque.
There's still no word on the whereabouts of the soldier. He's an Iraqi-American who was working as a translator.
The military says he left his Baghdad compound unaccompanied Monday night to visit family in the city, and that's when masked men in three cars whisked him away.
