Jevon Ward Sentenced For Shooting At Police, Leading Authorities On Chase

RALEIGH, N.C. — A man facing murder charges will spend 50 years in prison for another crime.

Jevon Ward pleaded guilty to shooting at police in January 2002, then leading them on a high-speed chase. He is also accused in the death of Amanda Simpson-Deane, who disappeared in 2000.

Simpson-Deane's body was found a year and a half later in a Nash County well.

Raymond Curtis is also charged in Simpson-Deane's death.
