Marines Arrested In Connection With Alleged Assault At Camp Lejeune

CAMP LEJEUNE, N.C. — The Marine Corps is investigating an incident of alleged assault that took place here in the early morning hours of Feb. 16.

Three Marines have been arrested in connection with the alleged assaults and remain in custody.

The Naval Criminal Investigative Service is heading the investigation into what Marine officials characterize as a possible hazing incident - the kind of abusive and humiliating conduct expressly prohibited by Marine Corps Order and punishable under military law.

The names of the suspects are being withheld until a time when charges may be issued.
