RALEIGH, N.C. — A former Wake County deputy was arrested Monday on a sex charge.
Richard Gibbs turned himself in after being indicted on a second-degree sexual offense last week.
According to court documents, Gibbs is accused of having sex with a woman he was questioning in a criminal case.
Gibbs was fired from the Sheriff's Office a year ago for failing to carry out the duties of his office. Before that, he was suspended for engaging in cybersex with a teenager.
