Harnett County Man Accused Of Murdering Girlfriend

HARNETT COUNTY, N.C. — Robin Lee Morris of Lillington, 28, has been charged with first-degree murder in connection with the death of his girlfriend.

Morris is being held without bond in the Harnett County Jail. He is scheduled to make his first court appearance on Monday.

On Saturday morning, the Harnett County Sheriff's Office responded to a reported shooting at 608 Walker Road, located in the Bunnlevel community in the southern part of the county.

Reports say that, at the time of the shooting, Morris and his girlfriend were in a rear bedroom in the victim's residence. The victim and Morris were having a verbal argument.

Deputies said that, during the argument, Morris fired one shot from a .38-caliber handgun that struck his girlfriend. Roommates of the victim called 911 and attempted to assist the victim, who had died by the time EMS personnel arrived on the scene.

The Harnett County Sheriff's Office K-9 Unit tracked the suspect and located the suspect in the wooded area behind the residence. Morris was taken into custody without incident.
