DURHAM, N.C. — Farewell ceremonies for soldiers and families of the 30th Corps Support Group of North Carolina Army National Guard, headquartered in Durham, were held Sunday.

The unit, with an authorized strength of 126 soldiers, has been mobilized in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. It will leave for an active-duty post next week.

From there, the unit will deploy to the Central Command area of operations (AOR) for further duty.

The unit was previously activated in November of 1990 for duty during Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm.

Federal, state and local officials will join Maj. Gen. William E. Ingram, Jr., the adjutant general of the North Carolina National Guard, and other senior Guard leaders for the ceremony.
