Cumberland County Deputies Issue Arrest Warrants In Hope Mills Shooting, Robbery

HOPE MILLS, N.C. — The Cumberland County Sheriff's Office has arrest warrants on file for an early-morning shooting and robbery that took place at 5512 Gilcrest Sands Drive in Hope Mills.

According to investigators, Walter Derrell Patterson shot Anthony Purdie in the face during a robbery. Patterson is wanted on charges of robbery with a dangerous weapon and assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill.

Purdie was in UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill on Saturday night. He is expected to recover from his injuries.
