Raleigh Police Search For Suspect In Alleged Sexual Assault

RALEIGH, N.C. — Raleigh police are asking for the public's help to identify the suspect in an alleged sexual assault that occurred early Thursday on Longstreet Drive.

According to police, the victim said she recognized the suspect as someone she had seen driving a dump truck in the Longstreet Drive area on Monday.

The suspect is described as an African-American male in his early- to mid-30's, standing between 6-0 and 6-1, weighing 170-180 pounds, with a short close-cut afro, mustache and neatly-trimmed goatee.

The victim told police she had stepped outside her residence into the yard when the suspect grabbed her, forced her back into the house and assaulted her.

Police said the victim had minor injuries.

According to the victim, the man had a medium complexion, a deep voice and a watch on his left wrist. She said he was wearing a shiny black puffy-zippered jacket.

Raleigh police are asking anyone with information to call them.
