FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — The Cumberland County Sheriff's Office is investigating the fatal shooting of a man who had been arguing with his girlfriend on Sunday.

Deputies said that, when they arrived, they found 43-year-old Billy Robert Sessoms in the living room of the residence he shared with his mother, with a single gunshot wound in his torso.

Sessoms was reportedly alive when deputies arrived. But he died upon arrival at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.
