Fayetteville Police Seek Help In Catching Bank-Robbery Suspect

Posted Updated

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — The Fayetteville Police Department is looking for the person who robbed the People's National Bank on Country Club Drive Saturday morning.

Police are asking anyone with information to call them at 910-433-1830. People also can phone in leads to Crimestoppers at 910-483-TIPS.

According to police, the suspect walked into the bank just after 11 a.m., Saturday, dressed in what appeared to be a black wig, black trench coat and lipstick.

Police say the suspect claimed to have a weapon but never displayed one. The amount of money he took was not determined at the time.

The suspect could have gotten away in a nearby vehicle, according to police, who admitted to not being sure how the suspect left the scene.

Because the suspect was wearing a disguise, the police don't have a good description. But investigators think they are looking for a black male.
